The Harbour Of Contrasts

Check this slightly yellowish layer on the bottom. It is not the original sand of the harbour. That one would be dark grey. This is clay coming from the land. It covers not only the bottom, but every possible surface it can stick to. The local government offers money for various projects to mitigate the issue. To build fences that would prevent cattle from getting into the streams that feed the harbour. To plant native bush to prevent washing the soil into the harbour. Unfortunately it doesn’t not deal with the main source of clay. I have a strong suspicion it is the building activity on the shores of the harbour. There are testimonies of the locals that saw trucks from building sites dumping loads of clay into the harbour. Such a practice is illegal, but cheap and fast. How can we stop it?
Now forget the clay and see the beauty that lives on it. Those organisms of bright colours and fantastically strange shapes. They have been struggling for a long time. They are still there. That is promising. How long can they endure?
