Description

Tasmania has lost over 95% of its canopy forming Giant kelp over the last few decades and The Nature Conservancy (TNC Australia) developed a collaborative project in order to reverse this trend.

The Tasmanian Giant Kelp Restoration Project is a partnership between TNC Australia, The Institute for Marine and Antarctic Studies at the University of Tasmania (IMAS-UTAS), NRM South and the CSIRO.

The ambition is to restore these biologically diverse and productive marine coastal ecosystems.

The Kelp Chronicles is a series of mini documentaries charting the innovation and collaboration that is driving this transformative restoration effort.
