Our Old But Trusty Bauer Capitano

This is our compressor, an old but trusty Bauer Capitano from the early seventies.

Let me share with you its advantages: It has a petrol engine which gives us independence. That means we can use it wherever we need. We do not have electricity on our property so that flexibility is very important to us .

It is a low rpm unit, manufactured for continuous duty. It is also quite powerfull, it delivers 140 l of air per minute.

It has its disadvatages too: The petrol engine with its tiny muffler is noisy. And there is a potential of CO poisoning from the exhaust fumes.

The compressor is heavy … but it has wheels and handles. Once it is on the hard surface, one person can handle it.

It usually takes 10 to 12 minutes to fill one tank.
