Description

A peaceful, atmospheric film exploring Patmos Island, contrasting its sun-scorched, volcanic landscapes above with the quiet, tranquil, and diverse worlds beneath the surface.

The Greek island of Patmos is a place of dramatic contrast — from the harsh, arid landscape baked by the summer sun to the calm, crystal-clear blue waters and lush silver-green seagrass.

Beneath the calm beaches, the Mediterranean Sea offers an oasis of stunning diversity. We journey slowly from gentle seagrass beds and soft golden sands to steep drop-offs and alien-like volcanic seascapes. It is a place filled with charismatic wildlife, incredible scenery, and peace.

In this film, we explore these spectacular marine environments, experiencing the underwater seascapes and creatures that call this island home.

Gliding through the swaying seagrass in the golden evening sunshine and across the sandy patches between, we swim alongside shoals of Mediterranean damselfish, interact with curious cuttlefish, and encounter stingrays, red starfish, and octopuses hiding among the rocks.

In the rugged, exposed reaches of the island, the environment shifts dramatically: stark volcanic seascapes, colourful rocks, and teal-blue waters host pink squid, huge schools of fish, lionfish, and colourful bearded fireworms.

Every dive into this Mediterranean sanctuary offers peaceful encounters, magnificent scenery, and charismatic wildlife.
